Science Photographer, Felice Frankel, is a research scientist in the Center for Materials and Engineering at MIT. For 20 years she has been collaborating with researchers from various disciplines, creating images and graphics for journal submissions, presentations and articles and exhibitions for the public. She is a Fellow of AAAS, was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship and grants from the National Science Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation, among others. She is a recipient of the Lennart Nilsson Award for scientific photography and a Loeb Fellowship at Harvard's Graduate School of Design. Among her books are: Visual Strategies, A Practical Guide to Graphics for Scientists and Engineers with Angela DePace, Envisioning Science, the Design and Craft of the Science Images, On the Surface of Things with George M. Whitesides, and No Small Matter, also with Whitesides.
